Meeting point :The students' union entrance

Meeting time: 18:00

Come with us to Kielder Observatory, where on a clear night, you can see more than 3,000 stars with just the naked eye. Receive talks from astronomers on the life cycle of a star, from how they're formed to what happens when a star dies. On a clear night you will experience the use of robotic telescopes as well as smaller telescopes on the observation deck.  The team of astronomers will be on hand to navigate you around the night sky such as the Moon, Double Stars, Clusters, Planets & Galaxies depending on the lunar calendar. If observation isn't possible, we will look at the ways ancient astronomers developed meaning behind what they saw in the heavens.  You will be taken on a virtual tour of our skies, learning constellations and what they mean to us as observers.  You will also explore the collection of fragments of rock fallen to earth, frozen in time from the very origins of our solar system.

Return transport included.

(Only £30pp / RRP £57pp)
