The workshop will start with a brief introduction to colour theory, where you will use jesmonite pigment to mix up 2 colours of your choice. You will then learn 2 different jesmonite techniques; marbling and terrazo. Practising each technique on 2 small items of your choice (photo holders, incense holders or a ring holder) before choosing your favourite technique to create your final drinks coaster.

We know how popular pottery painting is, so why not try getting behind the potter's wheel?  After all, there are few experiences as tactile and therapeutic as making your own masterpiece with clay. Experience life in a Victorian waggonway, you will learn how it was constructed and listen out for the wagons full of coal heading for the Tyne. Beamish is a world-famous open-air museum, telling the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 1950s.  

Explore the 1900s Town and see how families lived and worked in the years leading up to the First World War. See what’s cooking in the pit cottages, practise your handwriting in the school and visit the chapel. Don’t forget to say hello to the pit ponies in their stables! Be sure to jump on Beamish Tramway and head back to the 1900s Pit Village for fish & chips!  There’s just so much to see and do at Beamish Museum.

There’s the half trapeze and free-falling Tarzan swings to brave before the ultimate challenge of the skateboard zipline. The workshop will start with a brief introduction to colour theory, where you will use jesmonite pigment to mix up 2 colours of your choice. You will then learn 2 different jesmonite techniques; marbling and terrazo.
