Come and work away the stress of student life with a session of hot pod yoga! The session of hot Vinyasa Yoga will be performed in an inflatable, heated studio. An intensive and balanced physical workout, restoring calm and clarity to the mind in soothing, cocoon-like pods. 37c heat warms the muscles and aids flexibility as well as making the heart work harder. 

You must bring a large bath towel and water bottle with you to participate in the activity. We recommend shorts (with nets!) for men, and a t-shirt if you wish. Women should wear gym kit – legging/shorts and vest top. Remember, it does get sweaty.

The Quayside at night provides a spectacular urban light show. Artistically illuminated buildings, the changing colours of the Millennium Bridge and the glowing neon signs of the bars and restaurants on the quays, create an unmistakeable and vibrant light scape. Experience all of this from the water, on one of our illuminated sit-on kayaks.

Glow Tours offer perhaps the most exciting and unique way to see Newcastle and Gateshead from it’s iconic river. Our experienced and knowledgeable kayak guides are on hand throughout to keep you safe and show you all the best bits.

We don't wear wetsuits on this trip. Please wear lightweight outdoor/fitness clothing with warm layers appropriate for the day's temperature. We supply a waterproof cag and trousers to wear on top. You will be asked to wear a helmet so a think bandana or Buff worn underneath can help keep your head warm. You should expect to get wet feet and a wet bottom! Bring a towel and change of clothes for afterwards.

Meet at the library - training room 2 15:00

During this creative workshop you will be guided through making your very own terrazzo pattern round pot. We will be using Jesmonite which is a gypsum mineral & water based acrylic liquid casting material. It has no harmful chemicals and is also environmentally friendly.

There will be a full demonstration guiding you through each process, starting with how to mix the Jesmonite casting material and combining the pigments. You will be able to create your own custom colours for your terrazzo pattern, allowing you to make a truly unique piece of your own. You are the designer here, you will have the opportunity to experiment and play with colours as well as the size of your terrazzo chip patterns!

Once you have made your terrazzo colour chips I will show you how to cast these into your individual moulds.

We will then take a break while your pot cures and dries. From here you will un-mould and use a wet sanding technique to reveal your colourful trays. Finally you will dry and wax your tray, giving it a beautiful & tactile finish. You will leave with your finished creations on the day!

Finished pot is approx 8 x 8 cm - perfect for plants, stationary, make up brushes & so much more!

Suitable for beginners.

There will be a full demonstration guiding you through each process, starting with how to mix the Jesmonite casting material and combining the pigments. You will be able to create your own custom colours for your marbled pattern, allowing you to make a truly unique pieces of your own.

We will first cast your coaster and then your oval tray, allowing you to practice the technique twice. once your peices have cured and dried you will un-mould and sand the base. Finally, you will wax them both, giving them a beautiful & tactile finish and you'll leave with your finished creations on the day!

Finished tray is approx 18 x 9 x 1.3 cm - perfect for jewellery, makeup brushes, stationary, trinkets & so much more!

Coaster is approx 10 x 1cm

Suitable for beginners.

Go Ape Treetop Challenge 5th May 2024

Meet at the business & law building roundabout / turning circle @ 11am

Join us as we take on the treetop challenge at Go Ape Maften. Although this course is set amongst the stunning Northumberland scenery, it’s sure to test your nerve. Enjoy up to 3 hours on the high ropes course where you’ll discover a replica of the Tyne Bridge and a few other local landmarks awaiting you in the trees.

 There’s the Half Trapeze and free-falling Tarzan Swings to brave before you tackle the ultimate challenge of the Skateboard Zip. You’ll definitely leave this course with a sense of accomplishment and an unrivalled view of the finest scenery in Northumberland.
