Glow Tours offer perhaps the most exciting and unique way to see Newcastle and Gateshead from it’s iconic river. Our experienced and knowledgeable kayak guides are on hand throughout to keep you safe and show you all the best bits.

We don't wear wetsuits on this trip. Please wear lightweight outdoor/fitness clothing with warm layers appropriate for the day's temperature. We supply a waterproof cag and trousers to wear on top. You will be asked to wear a helmet so a think bandana or Buff worn underneath can help keep your head warm. You should expect to get wet feet and a wet bottom! Bring a towel and change of clothes for afterwards.

 Explore the 1900s Town and see how families lived and worked in the years leading up to the First World War. See what’s cooking in the pit cottages, practise your handwriting in the school and visit the chapel. Don’t forget to say hello to the pit ponies in their stables! Be sure to jump on Beamish Tramway and head back to The 1900s Pit Village for fish & chips!

The St. James' Park stadium tour lets you explore behind the scenes of this iconic stadium.

The tour captures the rich history of our magnificent stadium - the club’s home since 1892.

Whether it’s walking down the tunnel or sitting in your favourite player’s seat in the home dressing room or snapping your selfies pitch side there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Media Suite will provide a fascinating insight into what happens at St. James’ Park on a matchday. See where the manager delivers his post-match press conference and where player interviews are filmed and beamed all around the world.

You will also be taken to one of the highest points of the stadium where you will hear the roar of the crowd as you are led out to the Magpie’s view of St. James’ Park.

We know how popular pottery painting is, so why not try getting behind the potter's wheel?

After all, there are few experiences as tactile and therapeutic as making your own masterpiece with clay. Using your hands to transform a ball of clay into something functional or decorative is a truly unique and enchanting experience, one that will definitely leave you wanting more!

This experience includes a 2 hour  session to return and paint your pottery 4-8 weeks after making it. The date & time of the pottery painting event will be confirmed closer to the time.

Perfect for complete beginners, or those with a little experience.

Learn how tough life was during World War Two; listen for the air-raid warning, the sound of planes passing overhead dropping their bombs, and hear the memories of people who lived through this dreadful period in Newcastle's history. During your tour, you’ll also find out which Newcastle landmarks you are walking beneath, including the unique chance to walk underneath Hadrian's Roman Wall.
