Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who is unintentionally left behind while his family departs for a holiday trip, is portrayed by Macaulay Culkin. He must protect his home from two clumsy burglars.  Home Alone is a humorous, wholesome holiday film that has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Song ("Somewhere in My Memory") and Best Original Score.
